Over the last two months during the launch of Where is Pidge? I’ve visited many libraries, schools, bookstores, retail stores, and children stores. Children at the events who share with me their own passion for storytelling continuously inspire me. Some children have shared with me their written stories, while others have shown me their artwork. Two weeks ago I visited Barksdale Air Force Base with my son and AAFES set up a tent for Where is Pidge? at the Air Show. I interacted with the Blue Angel crew, toured the AAFES store, and watched a terrific Air Show.

I met a young boy named Dawson. Dawson and I talked about the story of Pidge and I noticed Dawson’s interest in the illustrations. I came to learn that Dawson is an amazing artist himself. His dad recently emailed me two pieces of Dawson’s art of a dragon and bird currently being displayed at an art fest. I can’t wait to see more of Dawson’s art in the future.

I’m looking forward to travelling to more military bases. I have a special place in my heart for the men and women who serve our country and their children.
